Demonstration and Workshop
This implementation Workshop was organized by BMBF in the framework of the Final Event of the EU project TRANSIT and took place on the 31th October, at 15:00 pm – 17:00. http://www.transit-project.eu/conference/en/index.html
The workshop “Fostering the acquisition of key competences with project-based and inquiry based learning activities (environmental education, responsible research)” was announced on the conference website. Participants had to register for this workshop, 17 teachers and educational stakeholder attended the workshop.
Within this workshop that focused on the acquisition of key competences with PBL and IBSE the first session introduced the aims and the milestones of the GreeNET project and invited teachers in a hands-on session to go through the BEST PRACTICE examples on the GreeNET inventory and to discuss the activities of 2 selected BEST PRACTICES in small groups.
The aims of this implementation WS were:
1. To present the aims and milestones of the GreeNET project a. http://virtuelleschule.bmukk.gv.at/projekte-international/eu-projekte/gr... b. http://greenet.ea.gr/
2. To present the BEST PRACTICES in the GreeNET inventory and to make them known to participating teacher http://www.greenet-education.eu/greenet/
3. To discuss on the relevance of such IBSE and PBL activities in the context of key competency acquisition.
The 17 participants of this workshop were invited to discuss on the best practice examples of environmental education and the relative material. The idea and the general aims of the GreeNET project were well taken up and considered to be very useful for teachers. Some of the examined best practice examples were seriously discussed with regard to the practical relevance of such activities as well as the benefits and the burdens of project-based learning activities.
Another session in this workshop focused on „responsible research and innovation“ in the framework of the „Ark of Inquiry“ project
