316 students of “La Maquinista School” in Barcelona form 3 to 9 years old had participated in the The European Week for Waste Reduction (24-28 November 2014).
The event was a dissemination activity for all the students of the School with the aim to promote the implementation of awareness‐raising actions about sustainable resource and waste management during a single week.

Particularly, the green committee of the School (composed from students, teachers and parents) had different ideas to celebrate the European Week of Waste Reduction:

· Monday 24 November: Students who wish can bring games made with recycled material and expose them on tables, so everyone can see.

· Tuesday 25 November: The families are encourage to come to school by public transport, bicycles, walking or any other way of transport with less emissions of CO2.

· Wednesday 26 November: breakfast or snack without foil or any packaging. Families are encouraged to bring tupperwares, paper towels to wrap sandwiches, fruit instead of juices, etc.

· Thursday 27 November: they build a wall to protect the environment where families and children can hang or write their messages and ideas about the 3R's or care about the planet at the entrance of the school.

· Friday 28 November: The children and teachers come to school dressed in the 3 main colors of nature: green (plants and trees), brown (earth), blue (sky and sea). They can also bring face paint with these colors.

The activities were very successful.
