Implementation Activity – Training Activity
The working group of teachers on Geography and Economics at upper secondary general academic schools is a multiplier platform for all so called “AHS – Gymnasia” in Styria, each School is represented with at least one teacher of this subject, as delegate of the school and with the responsibility ti disseminate contents and results of common seminars and activities in the home school.
At least one time a year the working group helds a three-day-seminar, as an official part of further teacher training, with patronance of the Styrian school board and the Pedagogical University of Styria. STVG I partner of these seminars since a long time and bring in, together with all partners, themes and topics out of areas from education, economic, entrepreneurship and environment.
At 5.0f November 2014 half a day in such a Styrian wide working group meeting was reserved for themes and topics of GreeNET, presenting the overall approach with a Power-Point-Presentation about GreeNET and main approaches of environmental best practices for education and school practice.
A main topic was to present the reference program Rio 92+. The participants were invited to reflect the approach of the project and the process of Rio 92+, to give feedback from the background of their personal experience in teaching similar topics and to discuss further possibilities to use the best practices developed and experienced within GreeNET.
Together with the participants of the working group further steps were discussed how to implement the most interesting examples for environmental education, that are connected with the contents and curricula of the subject geography and economics into future processes, projects and teaching activities in academic upper secondary schools.
